Temptation

We are tempted everyday. Temptation lurks in every corner and behind every door. We as humans are easy to tempt. Money, lust, power, all these things tempt us, daily. It is important to know that God never tempts us, but will provide a way out when we are tempted.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

James 1: 13-14

It is only our worldly desires and weaknesses that allow us to be tempted so easily. These temptations can can inhibit our growth in God and can even stray us from the narrow path. So, how do we rise above these temptations? In a world were sin and temptation dwell everywhere, how do we find a way out? It is through God and his Son that we do this. Through them we are saved.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:7
