Armor

The world has so many things that can distract us from God. This like false prophets and idols, desires and sin. All these things can create distance between us and God. Many of these things can seem good and pure to our eyes, but to God's eyes they are wrong and deceitful. They are like wolves in sheep's clothing. They seem good on the outside, but one the inside they are filled with evil.

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

Matthew 7:15

God sent us down to Earth as sheep and not wolves, so we must not commingle with wolves and that of which is evil.

I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

Matthew 10:16

So, how do we defend ourselves from the evilness? What can we do to protect ourselves from this world. We must put on God's Armor.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Ephesians 6:10-17

We must put on every piece of God's armor and use all of it because evil is strong. If we are missing a piece, then evil will attack that area. With God's Armor we will have truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, spirit, and much more. A important part we must have is the sword, the word of God. Without the word of God we are ignorant to what is good and evil. We must read and learn from the word to understand what God wants and what His will is. With every piece of God's Armor we are protected from Satan and from his evil. We alone cannot defeat evil, for we are weak, but through God we can do anything.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13
