Anger is a human emotion that we all have. Everyday we experience anger. At work, school, even at home, anger is everywhere. We can get angry at others, animals , inanimate objects, at ourselves, and even towards God. Anger is not a bad thing, we all experience it and anger is a very natural human emotion. But, never let your anger become an obstacle to God. Anger is not always a sin, but when it clouds your judgment and keeps you from God, it becomes a sin.
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:26-27
For man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
James 1:20
When anger prevents us from growing in God or impairs our judgment, Satan can manipulate us in many ways. We may yell at your loved ones, express hate and violence, or even denounce God. Anger is a very powerful emotion. Learn to control your anger and express love instead.
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.
Proverbs 29:11
Speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
Ephesians 4:15
But what causes our anger? and how do we control it?
Anger can come from many things. From others who have wronged us or hurt us, or even from selfishness. Controlling our anger is very difficult. We as humans can be angered easily. But our anger can be easily overcome by forgiveness and confession of our anger as sin.
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Proverbs 28:13
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:31-32
