Obedience

If we truly love someone, we would not want to do something that hurts them. The same applies to God. Our love for God should be stronger than any other love in this world. Even when we love God, we neglect to show him that love. We live our lives doing things that God does not like and we live disobedient to him. We should be totally obedient to God, for he is the one that loved us first, the one that made us and the one that saves us.

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Ephesians 5:3-5

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

Ephesians 5:8-11

Although we may never have complete obedience to God because of this world, we should still try. A heart that tries to be pure is better than a heart that does not. God knew that we could never be completely obedient to him because of out human weaknesses. Knowing that, he still sent down his son, Jesus Christ, to save us from our sin and disobedience.
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:21

Only through Jesus will we be completely obedient and righteous to God and it is only through Jesus Christ and the grace of our Lord that we are saved.
